Bill to Propose: Build a "health bar"
Additional Notes: Far be it from me to use my authority to force people to excercise. Instead, I would like to organize the construction of a specialized cafeteria. A "health bar", if you will. This would only be available to Confuto Ordinatio employees who have logged the required number of physical training hours, and would stock a superior selection of food and beverages. Perhaps five hours a week as the absolute minimum. I think this small incentive to improve the overall health of this fine organization, while perhaps not STRICTLY necessary, could only benefit us.
EDITS
- Food provided at this facility would be available for free, as a compensation for those working at CO, much like the food in the cafeteria.
- Food provided at this facility would be of a similar type as the food offered in the cafeteria, but made by a better cooking staff, with higher quality ingredients, and in smaller amounts (as this cafeteria would be serving a smaller crowd.)
- [Included herein is a menu of all the food AND DRINK Ridcully would suggest be served here. None of it is really what you'd think of as "health food", but it all looks reasonably tasty.]
- Toshut up put certain councilors at ease, I shall oversee the construction myself to make sure no rabid wolves or other dangers are released into the cafeteria.

Date: 2010-08-09 09:23 am (UTC)The Health Bar, as stated, does not account for the cost of the higher-end food and beverage items. The result could price it beyond what would be affordable to Agents, rendering the resulting implied luxury - and thus the entire reason for the operation - something only enjoyed by Enforcers and Councilors.
For that matter, why would Councilors seek to use this bar when some of the best food on campus is available solely to us through the restaurants attached to our penthouses?

Eh, it'd be easier just to mandate the workout. Noone has enough money for this thing to work anyway!

Date: 2010-08-09 05:58 pm (UTC)Councilor McDowell, as the purpose of this would be a reward for those who exercise, prices would be set low. To do otherwise would be like havin a foot race and then making the winner buy his trophy. Furthermore, while councilors have do indeed have superior dining facilities at their disposal, it is the agents and enforcers who spend the most time on the fiield, and thus have the msot NEED to remain in top form.
Councilor Hagino, In my experience, things that don't need or want to eat also have litle need to exercise.
Councilor DeDeDe, and Councilor Yakumo, At no point did I specify that this facility would give people health food. I wouldn't inflict that on anyone. It would supply similar types of food to those provided in the cafeteria, just with better cooks and higher quality ingrediants, ideally also with nicer accomodations. Certainly we COULD order them to work out, but I suspect a sullen, half-hearted obedience is the best we could hope for. Also, as this facility would not need to be nearly as large as the main cafeteria, I suspect the expenses would not be unbearably high.

You do have a good point about Councilors not necessarily needing to be in as ideal of form, as much as I am loathe to say it.

Date: 2010-08-10 01:55 am (UTC)Um... for example...
There was this one bill that was passed before where they were constructing new apartments for the agents because people were being crowded three to a room. But it ended up that only the rooms were being made and they didn't include beds and stuff... and then all sorts of followups and weird stuff happened... it was all a big mess.
You have to be specific on your bills to avoid this kind of stuff, unless you're saying that us councilors are going to be the ones actually making the bar and taking care of all the work getting it set up...

Date: 2010-08-09 09:13 pm (UTC)I will happily switch my vote to Yea after a satisfactory price modifier is added to ensure that the health bar runs comparable in prices (relative to what the user pays) to standard Agent cafeteria options.
The idea is appreciated, but I would rather see it passed without potentially-problematic loopholes.
